Through her work, Julie has made a difference to the lives of many. Her pioneering projects focus on empowering women to take charge of their health and “get into action”.  Her work led her to be nominated for The Emirates Woman of the Year in 2005, and in 2010 she was nominated for the International Women’s Business Group Achievement Award.  Two of her challenges have enjoyed Royal Patronage: HRH Queen Rania of Jordan and HRH Princess Haya of the UAE.

Most of Julie’s projects have a humanitarian or health-related theme to them. The key health issues they have addressed to date include osteoporosis, breast and prostate cancer, diabetes and heart disease. Julie is linked to schools and orphanage projects in Sri Lanka and Africa.

Originally from the UK, Julie climbed her first mountain at the age of 40 and, in September 2010, will join her husband Calin on an expedition to Cho Uye, an 8,200m peak in Tibet to raise awareness for breast and prostate cancer.

Julie has led, trained and managed multi-national teams of women (and men) on adventure challenges and expeditions to Borneo, Nepal, Jordan, Lebanon, Iran, Sri Lanka, Kerala, Morocco, The Arctic, Penang, Tibet, Goa, Peru, Africa, Oman, UAE and South Africa.

Julie has infectious energy, passion and enthusiasm for her work.  She is an authentic presenter with a strong personal interest in unlocking people’s true potential. She has made several television appearances, enjoys wide media coverage, and has been a regular guest on several radio programmes in the UAE, as well as writing for various lifestyle and travel magazines.
