Take a Leap of Faith on International Women’s Day!

The Centenary of International Women’s Day is coming up on March the 8th and I would love you to take a Leap of Faith with me!

I am teaming up with Alison Price of Women in Charge to find 98 women to join us to take a Leap of Faith from the Macau Tower, home to the world’s highest bungee jump. It will be the first time such an event has been held in the region so participants will be making modern day adventure history for women!  Women will have the opportunity to choose from one of three challenges off the tower: Sky Jump, Bungee Jump or the Skywalk, all under the expert supervision and guidance of the AJ Hackett team.

At the other side of fear is power – so we are calling all women to rise to the challenge and step out of their comfort zone and experience the exhilaration of taking a leap or walk of faith into a whole new world of possibilities.

The event will also raise awareness and funds for breast cancer under the umbrella of the Hong Kong Cancer Fund. Participants will be encouraged to have friends, clients, colleagues, family and corporate organizations support the event by making on-line donations direct to the Hong Kong Cancer Fund. Click on to donate.

The celebrations will continue with a special Women in Charge social gathering from 6.30-8.30pm at “Coast” in the Kinwick Centre, Soho.  The evening event is open to all women and provides a unique opportunity to network with a dynamic group of proactive women and be inspired by an incredible guest speaker for the night.

To register for the “Leap of Faith” event click here.  Registration costs just HK$300 and the actual jump fee will be the Macau Sky Tower fees – they are supporting the event by offering 20-40% off their regular prices!  Once you have registered simply send/email us confirmation of payment and you are all set to go!   For more information contact

The Great Ozzie Adventure in Sarawak, Borneo

Hi from Kuching!

Mountain High is delighted to be heading up the Australian Association of Hong  Kong’s 2010 annual trip . This year it’s a 5 day cultural adventure in Sarawak – land of the Hornbills & Orang Utans!

We arrived safe and sound late Wednesday 20th October evening and checked into the Grand Margherita Hotel on the Kuching waterfront.

After an early  breakfast on Thursday morning our guide, Cornelius , whisked us away to Sarawak Cultural village. Weather hot and sticky – all used to it from living in Hong Kong!  Great tour of the village depicting all the traditional houses  of the several ethnic groups of Sarawak.  Fabulous show  of  cultural dances, songs and hunting tactics (blowpipes!) after the tour.

In the afternoon we had a tour of Kuching and a visit to the museum.

Friday we headed to the Orung Utan Sanctuary and arrived for the 9am feeding time! Lots of picture taking as the orung utans came out to the feeding platforms laden with bananas and coconuts. Two mothers with young babies and several other orang utans came out so we were very lucky.

Mountain High on Cho Oyu

 Namaste from Kathmandu !

One of the books I have  brought to read on our trip is  Mega Living by Robin Sharma.  In the preface there is  a short story that relates to our climb , here it is :

A weary traveller met a wise sage on a mountain path high  in the Himalayas. The traveller asked the old man where he could find the path  which would lead him to the top of the mountain – his ultimate destination. The sage thought for a moment then replied ” simply make certain that every step you take is in the direction of the mountain top and you will get there ”

Thankfully we have climbing guides and sherpas with us – modern day sages of the mountains ! The only way is up , we look forward to our journey , watch this space for news !
